Serandom Screensaver Manager or Randomizer
The annoying thing about the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system is that it doesn’t let you run multiple screensavers at once. Let me use an example to better convey what I’m trying to say. You take a break at 1PM and go have a break – screensaver A launches while you are away. You take another break at 2PM – screensaver B launches. You take another break at 3PM – screensaver C launches.
That sort of functionality is not available by default in Windows. The same screensaver will launch each and every time. So in the example above, the same screensaver will launch every time you take a break. To have different screensavers launch every time you take a break, you have to turn to 3rd party applications.
You have to get a 3rd party screensaver manager or randomizer, like the Seraline-developed Serandom. What does this application do? In a nutshell, it allows you to control the frequency and duration of your screensavers. You can set it up so that each time your computer goes idle, a different screensaver will launch. You can also set it up so the screensaver runs for a predefined amount of time.
From the application’s interface you can select which screensavers Windows will run when the computer goes idle, how often Windows should run it, and for how long Windows will run it.
Before you go get Serandom and put it to the test, take a look at the technical details presented below:
Download – the download weighs in at 430KB, which is quite lightweight. It will only take a moment for the download to complete.
Supported OS – the developer says it’s best to use Serandom on Windows XP.
Limitations – you can use Serandom Screensaver Manager free of charge for a trial period of 14 days. Once that trial period is over, you will have to get a license to keep using it.
